Documenting reconciling items on the cash proof is now much faster. Instead of starting from two blank columns, Cash Proof Advanced explains each reconciling item for you, lets you record how you addressed it with a single pick, and shows you exactly what's left to do.
What's new
Explanations written for you. Every reconciling item Audit Sight recognizes arrives with text: an explanation you can keep, or a short note on exactly what to look into.
Responses in one click. Pick how you addressed each item from a dropdown. The year-end work that usually supports the item is already the first option.
Nothing slips through. Anything still waiting on you is yellow with a bold red instruction, and it clears as you work. Follow-ups turn red until they're resolved.
Testing documented where it happened. Tested an item in this work paper? Tick the entries you tested, and the built-in Tickmark Legend explains your marks.
Before and now
Before: two blank columns on every reconciling item.
Now: explanations filled in, responses one pick away, and open items easy to spot.
Before | Now |
|---|---|
Two blank columns on every reconciling item | Explanations filled in for every item Audit Sight recognizes |
Write how each item was addressed, from scratch | Pick a response; the supporting year-end work is the first option |
Scan the whole tab for unfinished cells before review | Open cells are yellow with a bold red instruction, and clear as you go |
Track follow-ups somewhere else | Follow-ups turn red right on the proof |
How it works
Read the explanations. Items with one clear business reason, like a transfer between the client's own bank accounts, come with an explanation. Keep it, or edit it to fit the client.
Replace the yellow notes. Items that can mean more than one thing open with Auditor to replace with their understanding. and a note on what to check. Investigate, then write what you found.
Pick an Audit Response. Choose how you addressed the item, and type a work paper reference after it if you like, for example "C-2".
Watch the yellow disappear. Each cell clears once you've worked it, so you and your reviewer can see what's left at a glance.
One pick records how you addressed the item.
The Audit Response options
Response | Use it when |
|---|---|
[Balance] tested at year-end. No additional testing in this work paper deemed necessary. | Your year-end testing of that balance supports the item, for example bank reconciliations for bank transfers. |
Testing performed in another work paper. No additional testing in this work paper deemed necessary. | Another work paper addresses the item. |
Testing performed in this work paper. See tick mark legend below. | You tested the item's entries on its detail tab. |
Item not material. Pass further work. | The item is below your materiality. |
Follow up - waiting on client information. | The item is still open. It stays red until you change it. |
You're always in control: Audit Sight never picks a response or decides materiality for you, and you can type your own response in any cell.
Testing in this work paper, documented
When you test an item's entries in this work paper, click the item's name to open its detail tab, tick the entries you tested, and add your marks below the Tickmark Legend. The legend already explains the red ^ under every detail-tab total: Footed.
The Tickmark Legend sits below the proof, ready for your marks.
Built for reviewers too
Yellow means "not done yet", so open items stand out instantly.
Red means "follow up", so nothing waits silently.
Every response reads as a complete sentence, ready for the file.
Above threshold? The Cash Proof Conclusion box asks for your acceptability conclusion in bold red.

FAQs
Can I change the prefilled text?
Absolutely. Every cell in the review columns is yours to edit.
Why is a cell still yellow?
It still starts with "Auditor to". Replace the instruction along with the note, and the yellow clears.
Does this change my cash proof results?
No. The review columns don't affect any calculation.
Can Customer Success walk my team through it?
Yes. Contact Audit Sight Customer Success, and we'll walk through it on one of your current engagements.
